James Patrick Dugan AIA PC, in practice for 45 years, provides professional architectural services including design of commercial buildings and high tech industrial facilities, passive solar buildings, residential design, sustainable development, consulting services for facilities management professionals, and commercial interior design.

Our portfolio of design and consulting projects includes major commercial and industrial projects for Fortune 500 companies and Fortune 100 financial institutions throughout the Eastern United States and in the United Kingdom. These projects encompass many building types, new buildings and facilities, alteration and renovation of existing structures, and adaptive reuse of historically significant buildings. Two of these projects have been cited by major architectural critics and by our peers as seminal architectural solutions in their respective decades. Our projects have been singled out for their sustainable design features, including the first Federal Energy Administration Award for Energy Savings in 1975 and the first passive solar residence in Southern New Jersey, constructed in 1981.

Examples of our professional accomplishments include:

• Programming, facility planning and design of two large commercial office projects cited as seminal work by peers, for innovative application of social and organizational research, furniture design and energy management.
• Real estate development control instruments for a high rise office tower and historic bank listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
• Design in 1980 of the first passive solar structure in Southern New Jersey.
• Adaptive reuse of 20 community bank buildings dating from 1890's to 1960's by converting them from single use to multi-tenant structures.
• Design of a new energy efficient data center for a major information processing company.
• Design of corporate executive suites for international manufacturing and financial companies.
